HARTFORD, CT — Senator Ryan Fazio, Republican nominee for Governor, today responded to a new poll released by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center showing that nearly 40 percent of Connecticut residents are considering leaving the state within the next five years, more than residents in neighboring states.
“It makes me sad and angry that 40% of Connecticut residents now say they are considering leaving Connecticut within the next five years, more than our neighboring states.
Connecticut is a beautiful place with strong communities and good people. Yet after eight years of Governor Lamont, the state has become so unaffordable to our families that almost half are considering leaving. This is not the best we can do. This does not scream ‘four more years.’
Our state cannot afford another term of Governor Lamont’s tax hikes and utility bill increases. Connecticut can flourish and ensure affordability with lower taxes, lower electricity bills, and a positive change.
